School Year Reflections & Summer Well Wishes from the Superintendent

Dear 91̽»¨app Community,

As the school year ends, I'd like to share insights from recent discussions with the School Board and leadership team to review our progress on the . The conversation highlighted both our successes and areas needing continued effort to ensure all learners thrive in a culture of equity and inclusion. I invite you to explore the MYSP dashboard for updates.

Belonging, community connection, and responsive programming are at the heart of the MYSP. Notable projects this school year that express these values included extending the René Deleurme Centre's reach and implementing the Universal Nutrition Program

Staff wellness was also prioritized through our ongoing exploration of the Guarding Minds survey results and the implementation of systemic changes to enhance workplace wellbeing. The interconnectedness of student and staff wellness compelled the introduction of . This universal staff training initiative is intended to help staff support students in crisis while also reducing secondary trauma for themselves.

Additionally, the implementation of a is aiding in better resource allocation to support inclusion and diverse requirements.

We celebrated several milestones, including the successful inaugural year of full-day, every-day kindergarten and ongoing initiatives in , numeracy, and . Our event, "Learning with the Land," at The Forks was also a highlight.

At our board office year-end meeting, we reviewed the projects from the past ten months, including PowerSchool implementation and the .

On the last day of school, I was in a meeting going over an external consultant’s review of Industrial Arts, Human Ecology, and Vocational Programming in 91̽»¨app before finalizing a final report that will frame our collective thinking and planning in the fall and beyond.

Strong trusting relationships have been essential to advancing our 25 strategic actions. When thinking of the human connection that is the heartbeat of our community, lived experience is our most valuable data, reminding us to stay grounded in the human stories that shape our schools.

Thank you for your commitment to student flourishing and for being part of 91̽»¨app’s journey. Together, we've made significant strides in creating an ever more supportive and inclusive environment for all learners and staff.

As we conclude this school year, I hope each of you enjoys time to relax, recharge, and enjoy the summer break. I look forward to seeing you refreshed and ready for another year when we return.

With appreciation,

Christian Michalik
